What do I need to do to keep my Binghamton email account?
Good news! You no longer need to take action to keep your Binghamton email. You are
automatically opted in to keep it! However, Google will delete inactive accounts that
have not been used for two years. Accounts are considered inactive if not logged into
for any 24-month period. Please note this only keeps your email, calendar and contacts. Google Drive will
be deleted approximately six months post-graduation.
Will my data in Google Drive be deleted?
Yes. Google Drive will be deleted approximately six months post-graduation. If there
are documents you need in Google Drive, Groups, Photos or other non-email related
tools, use Google Takeout or another means to download what is needed. If you encounter
issues when using Google Takeout, email the Information Technology (ITS) Help Desk
at helpdesk@binghamton.edu.
How do I reset the password for my Binghamton email account?
Alumni can reset the password by logging into , the online alumni directory. After logging in, click on the Binghamton email link
in the green menu bar on the left, then click the Set/Reset Password button.
I'm receiving an error message regarding two-step verification when I try to log into
my Binghamton email. What should I do now?
If you are able to log into your Binghamton email on your phone, you may be able to
go to the "Manage Your Google Account" menu on your phone to enroll in two-step verification.
If you are not able to do this, you will need to reclaim your email account by calling
ITS at 607-777-6420, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. EDT, Monday through Friday. ITS can provide
you with a token that allows you to update your settings and set up two-factor authentication
