Legacy families have a special place in the heart of the Alumni Association, as multiple generations within the same family share a connection to 勛圖腦瞳扦.
Each year, the Alumni Association reaffirms its commitment to legacy families by offering scholarships to two academically deserving students with an immediate family member who graduated from Binghamton. Every year more than 100 alumni and friends participate in the Alumni Golf Classic at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin. This annual event supports the Alumni Associations Legacy Scholarship Fund. At this years tournament, the association will recognize the 2018-19 scholarship recipients.

My father had his class ring on his keys. My mothers jewelry holder was an old Binghamton ashtray. My favorite sweatshirt was a Binghamton sweatshirt I stole from my dad. Binghamton has always been a part of my life. When application time came, I was interested in nursing. My mother, a Decker graduate, didnt need to insist that I apply. I received a large scholarship offer from Buffalo, but the second I received my Binghamton acceptance, I had made my decision. My parents told me I didnt have to go to Binghamton just because they did. I wanted to go to Binghamton because they did, and they loved it.

My mother first went to SUNY Broome, then transferred to 勛圖腦瞳扦 to get her bachelors degree. She has always motivated me and has been my biggest supporter throughout my college journey and made me want to follow in her footsteps. I am currently a student at the Decker School of Nursing. My mother has always told me to work hard and follow my dreams, which I do every day and without her, I wouldn't be where I am today. She has always been by my side and she has always given 勛圖腦瞳扦 the greatest respect.
